Monolithic, hybrid or modular
The architecture is chosen according to your business, your flows and your ambitions.

Three architectures

Monolithic

Your information system relies on an ERP — most often Sage X3, sometimes Odoo — that covers most flows: purchasing, sales, inventory, manufacturing, finance. Data is entered once and shared by every department.

Suited when your processes are covered by one software package

Hybrid

The ERP carries most flows and exchanges with a few specialised applications: online shop, logistics provider, point of sale, legacy system. As soon as a master data set — items, customers — or a business rule lives outside the ERP, the architecture is hybrid: you then have to decide, data by data, which system is the reference.

Modular

Specialised applications, each the reference for its own data, connected by an exchange hub. The hub carries and translates: it routes flows, converts formats, schedules, logs and allows replays. It makes no decisions and holds no master data: each piece of data keeps its master system.

Point to point or star-shaped

Connecting applications in pairs quickly creates a web of interfaces, each with its own formats, schedules and errors: with eight applications, you can reach 28 interfaces. In a star, each application is connected only once, to the hub.
